Natural Gas Honda Civic Arrives for 2012

According to Japanese magazine Nikkei, "The decision to sell the natural gas Civic throughout the United States is in response to increased interest in green cars and fuel efficient cars." This comes out as the Japanese auto maker introduces their Civic CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) car to various dealerships including Lujack Honda in Davenport, IA.1

Official pricing of Honda Civic Natural Gas is a base MSRP of $26,155. The vehicle will be available for test drives at 200 dealers throughout the US, as well as vehicles coming to Canada.

CNG Civic is powered by a modified version of a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine found in regular Civics, matted to a five-speed automatic. One of the top reasons to drive a CNG car is cost. Natural gas clocks in around 30% less than gasoline. It also produces hardly any smog-forming emissions. Civic CNG is rated at 27 mpg city, 38 mph highway, with a combined total of 31 mpg. In some states, including California, CNG vehicles can travel in carpool lanes, regardless of the number of occupants.

Honda proudly makes their 'green' Civic models available with Compressed Natural Gas throughout the country at competitive pricing.
